Oral tradition and writing in popular culture: printed calendars, a transition towards written culture in urban society

[RESUMO] O avance na consolidación do modelo económico capitalista esixía racionalizar a medida do tempo nos diferentes territorios europeos, tanto para o fomento da productividade económica, como para o ‘disciplinamento’ social. Así, o calendario, que fora unha mediación característica, pero tamén variable, da sociedade tradicional, foise convertendo durante a Modernidade tardía e a Contemporaneidade nunha publicación impresa crecentemente popular, paulatinamente normalizada como xénero impreso. Como obxecto de consumo cultural, o calendario ou almanaque incorporou novidades científicas nas súas páxinas publicitarias, conxuntamente cos contidos máis tradicionais e desenvolveu un rol formativo en contextos informais de educación[ABSTRACT] The consolidation of capitalism made it necessary to rationalize the measurement of time in different areas of Europe for two reasons – to foster economic productivity and to achieve social discipline. Thus the calendar, which had been a typical, but variable measurement, gradually became an increasingly popular printed publication in late modernity and contemporary times. As an object of cultural consumption, the calendar or almanac started to include scientific innovations in the form of advertisements, in addition to its traditional contents. The calendar also played an important role in informal educational settings

El presente artículo examina el contenido de la prensa rosarina a mediados del siglo XIX en un contexto de profundos cambios políticos, económicos, sociales y culturales para analizar el perfil polémico de las formas discursivas que expresan la conflictiva coyuntura de la Confederación con el Estado de Buenos Aires y con la vecina República del Paraguay.This article examines the contents of the press in Rosario in the mid-nineteenth century, in a context of profound political, economic, social and cultural changes. Comunicación con el paciente oncológico pediátrico: revisión bibliográfica

El proceso de comunicación con pacientes oncológicos en edades pediátricas y sus familias es de gran importancia y complejidad. El cáncer infantil conlleva una situación traumática para el paciente, incitado por el propio malestar de la enfermedad y las hospitalizaciones recurrentes para llevar a cabo pruebas diagnósticas y tratamientos. A nivel de la unidad familiar, supone un cambio radical en las actividades de la vida diaria, además de un fuerte impacto de emociones diferentes. Una comunicación sensible y adaptada a las necesidades individuales de cada niño facilita la construcción de una relación terapéutica eficaz y aumenta la confianza en los profesionales sanitarios. Los niños y adolescentes informados de su enfermedad son más propensos a colaborar con los procedimientos, a expresar sus sentimientos y opiniones, y tienen menos niveles de ansiedad. Para ello es necesario que el equipo sanitario cuente con determinadas habilidades y estrategias de comunicación, y sea capaz de identificar y hacer frente a los diferentes conflictos que pueden aparecer a lo largo del proceso. El siguiente trabajo comprende una revisión bibliográfica de literatura de carácter cualititativo y tiene la finalidad de estudiar la comunicación de la enfermería con los pacientes y sus familiares, como herramienta fundamental en el tratamiento del cáncer infantil. A través de la revisión de diferentes estudios, se concluye que la comunicación se consolida como un elemento eficaz a lo largo de la trayectoria hospitalaria del paciente pediátrico con cáncer y que es necesaria su correcta enseñanza en las instituciones sanitarias.Grado en Enfermerí

Design and development of an interface for the remote control of a DC motor

Remote laboratories have been gaining popularity since their first appearance two decades ago as an alternative to hands on laboratories. They present numerous advantages for universities such as lower costs and flexibility, meanwhile, maintaining the benefits of dealing with real systems that virtual laboratories do not present. In this bachelor thesis, an interface to interact in remote with a DC motor, that can be used as a laboratory session was developed. A full stack application using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python languages was implemented. The front end of the application is a web page with real time graphs and a video feed with low latency. The back end includes a web server that attends the requests from the user, via web sockets, and performs the control loop for the motor, as well as managing the camera. The hardware of the platform was selected after a detailed research, advantages and disadvantages of potential elements alternatives will be explained. The platform also incorporates designed and printed 3D pieces. The system was successfully identified using Python and MATLABs code and its response in velocity and position is simulated with Simulink Tool.Ingeniería Electrónica Industrial y Automátic

Convergence to equilibrium for a hyperbolic/elliptic system modelling the viscoelastic-gravitational deformation of a layered Earth

In this communication we prove the stabilization, as t goes to infinity, of a model (which is an adaptation of the one possed by A. E. H. Love in 1911, see [8] Love, A.E.H., Some problems in Geodynamics,Cambridge University Press, New York, 1911) for the study of the displacements due to internal sources of strain in layered linear viscoelasticgravitational continua. The existence and uniqueness of weak solutions has been obtained recently in [1] Arjona, A., Díaz, J.I., Fernández, J., Rundle, J.B.,On the mathematical analysis of an elasticgravitational layered Earth model for magmatic intrusion: The stationary case. Our proof uses a reformulation of the hyperbolic/elliptic system in terms of a nonlocal hyperbolic system leading to which we apply the La Salle invariance principle for a Lyapounov function involving the nonlocal terms
